Academy of Health Sciences Charter School continues to accept applications for spots in 5th – 8th grade for the 2024-2025 school year. We eagerly welcome English learners and students with special needs. Apply online, or download a form and mail, email, or fax it to us!

What are the school hours?AHS will begin at 8:45 AM and end at 4:15 PM, Monday – Thursday. On Fridays, AHS will begin at 8:45 AM and end at 1:00 PM.
Do you provide transportation?
Yes, free busing is provided by RCSD to all students who live at least 1.5 miles away from the school.
Do you provide special education services?
Yes, we welcome students with special needs and provide services according to the student’s IEP or 504 plan.
What is the dress code?
Shirts: Students must wear an AHS shirt. Families may also purchase iron-on patches and apply to their own white, black, gray or teal shirts, or sweaters, NO HOODIES ALLOWED.. Families can click here to view our dress code policy.
Pants: Black, khaki, gray, or navy pants. No jeans, shorts, leggings, sweat-pants, or skirts. Pants must be clean and not ripped.
Shoes: Comfortable, closed-toe shoes or sneakers. No slides Are breakfast and lunch provided?Yes, all students receive free breakfast, lunch, and snack daily. For the menu please visit our Families page.
Can I apply if we live out of district?

Dost it cost money to apply or attend?
No, there is no cost to apply or attend. AHS provides free transportation, breakfast and lunch, and school supplies.
Does my student have to pass a test to apply or attend?
No, there are no entrance requirements.
When can I apply for my child?
The deadline to apply for the lottery is April 1. However, you can apply anytime throughout the year to be added to the wait-list: https://www.goodschoolsroc.org/
Does AHS have after-school sports?
Yes, we offer modified sports to our 7th and 8th grade students.
